Russia Badly Beating Ukraine Does Not Amount to War Crimes
The latest buzz around the Russia Ukraine conflict is the claim that the Russians have committed war crimes, currently this assertion is not based in reality, it is a knee jerk reaction to the heavy losses the Ukrainians are suffering. The battle in Ukraine is not pretty, the massive Russian bombardment is literally leaving cities in rubble. The accusation that Putin and the Russians have committed war crimes is more outrage at the onslaught than a factual occurrence of abuses.
The worst of the worse
The very term “war crime” is ugly, it is a label that identifies the worst of humanity. As if war itself isn’t bad enough committing “crimes” during warfare is considered to be the most heinous of acts. Vietnamese women speak of rape by American soldiers in the 1960’s. The Japanese did disgusting things to American corpses, Germany’s concentration camps were beyond comprehension, these actions come to mind when on thinks of war crimes. People are throwing the word around, so causality and they have no clue about real war crimes, similarly everything disagreeable today is labelled “worse that Hitler” The crimes that the Americans men committed on Vietnam women are unspeakable, those soldiers were truly the worse of humanity.
The horrific crime perpetrated on the Vietnamese people have been wept under a rug by American media.
As Americans we have to stop feeling we are morally superior to other nations. Russian is a world class power, a nuclear powerhouse, they are steamrolling over Ukraine but that is not a war crime. Ukraine’s President Zelensky put his people in harms way, he convinced them that they could beat the Russian war machine, it was a giant miscalculation. The only thing happening in Ukraine is a full out assault in a much smaller Nation. The Western media still want people to believe Ukraine has a chance, Zelensky sold his people false hopes, had he been smarter he would have negotiated with Russia. Now that the war is lost, Zelensky is begging for a meeting with Putin; he was not begging for a meeting in early February before the war.

"This is not going to be a war of Ukraine and Russia. This is going to be a European war, a fully-fledged war," Zelensky said at a joint press conference with Johnson
Ukraine put up a majestic fight, but they have been beaten to a pulp, Russia has claimed two Ukrainian nuclear plants and control multiple entries to the country in just 26 days. Zelensky was sure NATO and America was going to come running in with guns blazing and some clueless congressmembers want this to happen but even Joe Biden knows this would be World War 3. Zelensky is out of his league, you don’t go from TV show actor to the battlefield. India and countries in the middle east are reporting that Zelensky relied on NATO having his back when the heat was on, but that did not pan out the way he had planned. What we are watching each night is an old-fashioned pounding, Putin is beating Ukraine into submission.
What happened in Vietnam, Nazi Germany and many African nations are legitimate war crimes, but Russia bombing Ukraine into oblivion is not a war crime.
I found this article both very amusing and offensive and particularly, " Ukraine's President Zelensky put his people in harm's way". So, your point is whenever a so-called superpower country, Russia, the aggressor I may remind you, attacks the weaker country, like Ukraine, they should just lay down their arms. Ridiculous! Ukraine will beat Russia. Russia can go ahead and kill everything that moves but Ukraine is already the victor here. The horror we see unfold in Ukraine is exactly what happened in Vietnam, Nazi Germany, Africa from west to east and north to south and many other places especially in the eastern Europe, middle East, etc. Russia annexing territories in 2022 and you don't find this act of barbarism appalling. Go to Ukraine and tell them that the numerous mass graves with men, women, and kids, their hands tied behind their backs with bullet holes in their skulls are not war crimes. Un believable!!!
Are you willing to reconsider this point of view now that Russia is retreating from several fronts of the battle and piles of civilian corpses left behind by Russian soldiers have been photographed? Killing civilians that have no part of a conflict is a war crime. Period. Bombing the theater full of children in Mariupol that was clearly marked is a war crime. Period. What incentive do you have for whitewashing Russia's evil?
